What’s New with Eva 2.3.4
Fun! Interactive! Easy to Use!
Dear Eva Users,
Our new team member and developer hit the ground running. She has worked hard to fix some of the bugs and issues, including the recent in-app purchase bug that made it wonky for some users to download lessons.
We are interested in hearing from you. Your feedback it very important to us. We want to know how to make Eva work well for you. We’ll be posted and sending out a survey shortly to get your thoughts and comments. In the meantime, please send us your feedback at firstname.lastname@example.org!
Background & Features:
• Eva 1.0 for trans feminine voices was first released on March 13, 2013 for iOS and Android platforms. Almost immediately we received a trove of emails from trans masculine people asking about an app for them. Eva FtM was released for both iOS and Android in August 2013.
•Quite early on we realized that our complex pitch analysis algorithms were too difficult to code using a cross-platform strategy. So we discontinued developing for Android devices. iOS is a perfect closed system that uses the same microphone specifications for each of its devices, which is needed to make the algorithm for the pitch tuner and pitch tracker work. Therefore, we are only developing for iOS at this time.
•We will build out the Android platform at a later date. We do not have a date when that development will begin. Our funding is limited and we do not have the resources at this time to devote to solving the pitch analysis issues with which we are faced.
•Eva is compatible with iOS mobile devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch), which run iOS 7.0 and higher.
•Eva will not run on older devices, such as the iPhone 4 or 4s. Eva will not run on the iPad Pro.
•We do not have plans to develop for MicroSoft mobile devices.
•EvaF is a free download, which includes a free sample lesson so that you can get an idea of how Eva works. When complete, EvaF will have three courses (with multiple individual lessons) tailored to the developmental level of one’s voice. At this time, EvaF has 15 lessons (in course one, Voice Fundamentals) available.
•Each Eva lesson is $4.99.
•The Pitch Tuner for EvaF 2.3.4 is activated when you download the app. The Pitch Tracker (on the Tools page) is activated when you’ve purchased Lesson 4 (Pitch 3).
•The metronome and sound pressure level meter (found on the Tools page) open when you purchase the lesson associated with that tool. For example, the SPL meter becomes activated when your purchase one of the two loudness lessons ( Lesson 13 and Lesson 14).
•EvaM is our trans masculine voice training program and when completed, will consist of a single course of ten lessons. Currently, there are 5 available for purchase.
